This wonderful CD features Wendell's famed Mama's Licking Stick Clarinet Ensemble. Saxophonist, bass clarinet player James Carter makes a guest appearance and ancestor master percussionist Jerry Gonzalez on the CD. Wendell's clarinet ensemble has been awarded grants from Chamber Music America, Michigan Council For The Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts for commissioned works, workshops and residencies in Detroit Public Elementary, middle schools and high schools.
